You wouldn't believe the number of people who make money from home selling their
own information products. What is an information product? Simply an ebook, audio or video that can be downloaded
online. These products are created to help people solve a particular need or problem. Think of things you go online
to find out - how to get rid of acne, best way to lose weight, natural remedies for different ailments such as high blood
pressure or gout. When you have searched for information online and come across an ebook or course that was for sale,
that is an information product. Making your own is easy - and it's one of the easiest and most profitable ways to make
money online from your own home.
When you create an information product, it doesn't have to be that long.
In fact, it's best if you offer your information in a concise manner and leave out the "fluff" that people often
include to make their ebook or audio course longer. Many people even create several "short reports" of 7 to
10 pages, then sell them for $7 to $15 each. When you have several products, you have the opportunity to make more
money because you are targeting different needs that people have. You can actually write your ebook or short report
in a Word program or even in notepad, then convert it in to a downloadable .pdf format later on.
First of all, you want to come up with a niche that isn't too general. For example, instead of writing
an ebook explaining how to lose weight, you would want to target a smaller topic such as "how to lose belly fat"
or "how women can get rid of fat from their thighs". Topics like these aren't as competitive, and they are
targeted to specific needs that people have. Once you have chosen your topic and written your small report or ebook,
you can begin marketing it online. Set up a website (this is easy, even if you have no experience). You really
only need a one page site that you can send people to. This page should be more of a "sales" type page, explaining
the benefits of your information product, what people will learn, and how it will give them the results or solution they are
looking for. Be sure to write this page in a persuasive tone of voice, so that you warm your visitors up and get them
in the "buying mode" before they actually get to the "buy now" button.
Once you have your information all ready to go, how do you get people to it so that they can buy?
There are endless ways you can send traffic to your sales page, but the easiest (free) way to do this is through article marketing.
In article marketing, you write informative articles about peoples problems, and offer a bit of information about the solution,
but not too much. After all, you want them to buy your product, so you don't want to give away the farm in your articles.
Post your articles to sites like Ezine Articles and Buzzle, and link back from your author resource box to your sales page.
Once you get a little experience under your belt, you will want to learn how to build a list of targeted subscribers.
When you do this, you are capturing the email addresses and names of those who are interested in your product, so that you
can market to them through e-mail messages via an autoresponder. This sounds a bit complicated right now, but it is
fairly simple. Does making money from home with your own information products sound fun? It really is, but be
prepared to work. The truth is, there are no get rich overnight miracles as you may have read online. If you are
going to make money online from home and be able to quit your day job, you will have to put some effort in - but it's really
